Pool Float Fuckery by Becca
Lets start with this cute little unicorn pool float from Roadies vol 7. Onto bristol smooth cardstock I stamped in versamark onyx black ink and clear heat embossed on top. I colored the image using Arteza real brush pens. Even though I wanted the body to be white, I shaded the edges with a light grey marker so it would have dimension.
For some shine I used Finetec metallic watercolors. For the horn and tail I used gold, then I used a pearl color to make the entire body shine.
To begin creating the pool I die cut a circle out of card stock and ink smooshed layers of blue ink. I added water splatters and white splatter using gouache.
For some shiny bubbles on the background I clear heat embossed an image from Tiny Dot Clusters.
For the outside of the pool I die cut a ring by taping two circle dies together. I adhered the ring with craft foam so it would have dimension. To create the hinge I cut a strip of paper to 1in wide and scored at 1/2in. I glued it to the back of the pool and the other side to the back of the card base.
I painted the edges of the background with the same gold metallic watercolor as the focal image, so it would coordinate. I stamped Banana Leaf Background in dark green ink onto green paper and layered it on top of the gold border.
I stamped this sentiment from Zero Fucks and cut it into 2 strips. In the end I decided they were too plain, so you will see on the final photo the sentiment strips have metallic gold edges. I also added some clear bubble embellishments.
